These guidelines are applicable to any new character starting in the campaign. New versions of the guidelines may be posted later for newer characters. For example, if the original party is granted the ability to travel between planes, characters from planes other than Zendikar may become available.
- Starting Level: 1
- Races Available: Human, kor, elf, merfolk, goblin, and vampire. To begin, characters should be created as Zendikar natives, as the source material available only covers this plane, and lacks methods for planes walking.
- The setting does not try to strictly emulate the mechanics of Magic the Gathering, but presume the presence of the five colors of mana all the same. Mana in this campaign serves a similar function to alignment. You may pick any of the five colors that you wish for your color alignment. Keep in mind that most characters will be one or two colors.
- Use 27 or fewer points with the point buy calculator, and do not exceed 15 on any one stat when doing the point buy.
